A Bit About Bruno

From the moment he opened his eyes, Bruno was something special. Our keeper boy from our beloved Chumlee x Ellie litter. Bru stood out early on with his beautiful balance, eye-catching expression, and a heart as big as his personality. Bruno truly is the total package: handsome, talented, and endlessly affectionate.

As a wee baby puppy, he quietly sit at the puppy pen, watching Laurie’s every move with soulful eyes. His temperament really started to shine through. He would play with children in the most gentle and engaging way. He was unphased by all the chaos around him. In the end, it felt less like a choice… Bruno made it clear, he had already chosen where he belonged.

Bruno kicked off his conformation career with an impressive debut, earning back-to-back Beginner Puppy (4–6 month) Best of Breed wins and a Puppy Sporting Group 2. All expertly handled by Jane who he adored. Shortly after that show, COVID brought everything to a halt, and our conformation hopes were put on hold. 

When we were finally able to return to the show ring, Bruno picked up right where he left off. Earning his AKC Championship came naturally, finishing with three majors and a Best of Breed win over top ranked specials. And he wasn’t finished yet, he continued on to complete his AKC Grand Championship in true Bruno fashion… ending with another Best of Breed win on the most perfect of days. These titles have been a true Seastar team effort, Bruno has been proudly breeder-owner handled throughout his entire career by Jane, Laurie, or Ashley.

Beyond the accolades, titles, and wins, Bruno’s true gift is his temperament. He’s a gentle soul who loves everyone he meets. Bruno is the kind of dog who greets every day with enthusiasm and loves nothing more than being by our side. And just as we’d hoped, he’s passed that same sweet and steady nature to his offspring. 

Bruno has sired several litters for us and for trusted fellow breeders, with multiple repeat breedings that speak to the quality and consistency he produces. We are lucky to have kept one of his daughters, Tesla (our little “Brun-etta”), who showcases so many of the strengths he passes on. 

With his pedigree rooted deeply in our foundation lines, Bruno represents everything we’ve worked toward at Seastar… type, temperament, and heart.
